Chikan soup in Indian style recipe
Chikan soup is a delicious and healthy dish that is popular in Indian cuisine. Here is a simple recipe to make Chikan soup in Indian style:
Ingredients:
2 chicken breasts
1 onion, finely chopped
1 carrot, peeled and finely chopped
1 celery stalk, finely chopped
4 cloves of garlic, minced
1 inch piece of ginger, grated
2 green chilies, finely chopped
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon coriander seeds
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 tablespoon oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh coriander leaves, chopped for garnish
Instructions:
Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and coriander seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
Add chopped onion, garlic, ginger, green chilies, carrot and celery to the pot. Stir and sauté for 5-6 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
Cut chicken breasts into small pieces and add to the pot. Add turmeric powder and garam masala powder. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Pour enough water into the pot to cover the chicken and vegetables. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to low. Let the soup simmer for 20-25 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
Use a hand blender or transfer the soup to a blender and blend until smooth.
Return the soup to the pot and add salt and pepper to taste. Bring the soup to a boil and let it simmer for another 5-10 minutes.
Serve hot, garnished with fresh coriander leaves.
